The state of research summarizes the essential literature that deals with similar questions. This is not about a general overview of the literature, but about a compilation of essential literature for the discussion of one’s own results.
Presentation in your Own Work
The state of research can usually be found as running text in papers. Often you can also find it under “Relevant Literature” or “Literature Review”. For me, however, it has turned out that a presentation as a table significantly simplifies one’s own work. Although I usually do not publish this table, the statements can be sorted more easily and processed in one’s own argumentation. Click here for an old example of such a table.
