In My Teaching and Research, I Deal with the most Important Topics on Financing and Investment, with a Focus on Financial Literacy. In Addition, I also Teach on the Topics of Digitization, Self-Management and Scientific Work.

Target group-specific financial literacy is particularly important to me in the academic context.

Financial Literacy

I head the Financial Literacy research group at the isf Institute for Strategic Finance at the FOM University of Applied Sciences. Financial literacy is often defined as a measure of a person’s understanding, knowledge and application of financial information. Our research focuses on the financial literacy of young professionals and socially disadvantaged groups. In addition, the influence of financial literacy on investment and financing decisions, such as participation in the stock market, is examined.

FLIC Financial Literacy International Programme

The main goal of the project was to create an efficient and sustainable model of financial education by developing and implementing a course on “Financial Literacy” at the participating partner universities FOM, Masaryk University and WU Vienna. Students should use the acquired knowledge to impart financial knowledge to disadvantaged citizens. The course and all other outputs realized by the project team led by Dr. Barbora Buchtová, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Bettina Fuhrmann, Assoc. Prof. Martin Svoboda and Prof. Dr. Alexander Zureck are available on the project page www.financialliteracyplatform.eu.
